Permissions

There are multiple permission levels in Pia that you can assign per user. You can either select a 'Role' for a user or Select multiple 'Access Levels' for them to access different functionalities within Pia.

Follow the steps below to assign these permissions to an existing user or a new user:

  1. Go to your Pia Portal
  2. From the left menu, Click on the 'Users' Option. This will take you to the users screen.
  3. For a new user, click 'Create New User' button at the top right corner. For an existing user, simply click on the Edit button beside Access Levels for each user
  4. In the 'Edit User' screen, you will see a multi-select list box with various access levels on the left. You will also see the 'Roles' option with two checkboxes below 'Email' field
  5. Select the Role or Access Levels you want to assign to the user
  6. Hit 'Save Changes' once you are happy with your changes

Roles & Access Levels​

Roles​

There are two types of roles that you can assign per user.

Super AdminThis role allows user to access ALL the functionalities available in Pia Partner Portal .
EngineerThis role allows user to access Pia Chatbox in the ticketing system.
Access Pia Partner PortalThis role allows user to access the home page of Pia Partner Portal. For a user to be able to access various parts of the Partner Portal, they can be tied to multiple Access Levels. These access levels are further defined below.

Access Levels​

Each user in Pia can be assigned with multiple access levels. These access levels are grouped on the basis of usability.

Access LevelsDescription
ViewPermissions under this group allows users to View different features in Pia.
Activity EditorAllows the user to view Activity Editor. The Edit Activity Editor Access will not work if the user does not have this permission enabled.
Adoption ReportAllows the user to view the Adoption Report in the Partner Portal.
AgentsAllows the user to view the agents list in the Partner Portal (in Read Only mode).
ChatboxAllows the user to view the Chatbot in Read Only mode. The user can input a ticket number and Click on 'Go' to view the chat history however, they cannot perform any other function.
ClientsAllows the user to view the clients list including client config in the Partner Portal. This includes Global Configuration, Delegates, Packages and Package Config etc.
Connected Service SecretsAllows the user to view the connected service secrets in the Partner Portal. The user still need 'view: connected service' to view the connected service screen.
Connected ServicesAllows the user to view the connected services in the Partner Portal. The user will not be able to view Secrets.
Form BuilderAllows the user to view Form Editor. The Edit Form Builder Access will not work if the user does not have this permission enabled.
Live PackagesAllows the user to view Live Packages Screen. The View Live Packages and Stop Live Packages Access will not work if the user does not have this permission enabled.
Manage WhitelistAllows the user to view Whitelist Screen.
Ops Performance ReportAllows the user to view the Ops Performance Report in the Partner Portal.
Orchestrator BackendAllows the user to view Pia Partner Portal. User will not have access to Pia if this access level is not enabled for them.
Package Audit LogAllows the user to view Package Audit Log screen.
Package EditorAllows the user to view Package Editor. The Edit Package Editor Access will not work if the user does not have this permission enabled.
Pia CanvasAllows the user to view the Pia Canvas Screen in the Partner Portal (in Read Only mode).
Scheduled PackagesAllows the user to view the scheduled packages in the Partner Portal.
SoftwareAllows the user to view the Software screen and Software configurations (in Read Only mode) in the Partner Portal.
System Audit LogAllows the user to view system audit logs in the Partner Portal.
TagsAllows the user to view the list of available tags and Tags configuration in the Partner Portal.
Partner SettingsAllows the user to view Partner Settings screen configuration (in Read Only mode) in the Partner Portal.
User GroupsAllows the user to view the list of user groups and group configuration in the Partner Portal.
UsersAllows the user to view the list of Partner Portal users and their details in the Partner Portal.
View config ExplorerAllows the user to view the config explorer screen in the Partner Portal.
View config WatcherAllows the user to view the Config Watcher alerts in the home screen.
View IntegrationsAllows the user to view the Integrations screen in the Partner Portal.
Edit/DraftPermissions under this group allows users to Create/Edit different features in Pia.
Activity EditorAllows the user to Create/Edit activities in the Activity Editor screen.
AgentsAllows the user to download/edit/uninstall agents in the Agents screen of the Partner Portal.
Cancel SchedulesAllows the user to cancel 'Scheduled For Later' activities from Scheduled Packages screen.
Chatbox - Execute PackagesAllows the user to execute Pia packages in the chatbox screen of the Partner Portal
ClientsAllows the user to make changes to the clients dashboard/client configuration in the Partner Portal.
Configure Extension AutomationsAllows the user to view and edit available extension points with extension automations in Pia automations.
Connected ServicesAllows the user to create/edit/delete connected services in the Connected Services screen of the Partner Portal.
Delete ActivityAllows the user to Delete activities from the Activity Editor screen.
Delete FormAllows the user to Delete forms from the Form Editor screen.
Delete PackageAllows the user to Delete packages from the Package Editor screen.
Form BuilderAllows the user to Create/Edit activities in the Form Editor screen.
Manage AI & Triage SetupAllows the user to view/edit Triage configurations in the AI & Triage screen.
Manage Config WatcherAllows the user to manage both system and client alerts in the home screen.
Manage IntegrationsAllows the user to create/edit/delete integrations in the Integrations screen of the Partner Portal.
Manage WhitelistAllows the user to create/edit/delete whitelist in the whitelist screen of the Partner Portal.
Package EditorAllows the user to Create/Edit Packages in the Package Editor screen.
Pia CanvasAllows the user to run packages, change ticket status in the Pia canvas screen of the Partner Portal.
Restricted ClientsAllows the user to Tag/Edit Clients that are restricted (Client Dashboard> Restricted Client Dropdown).
SoftwareAllows the user to configure details for a new software in the Software screen of the Partner Portal.
TagsAllows the user to create/edit/delete tags in the Tags screen of the Partner Portal.
Tenant SettingsAllows the user to view and edit tenant configurations to the Tenant settings screen.
User GroupsAllows the user to create/edit/delete user groups in the User groups screen of the Partner Portal.
UsersAllows the user to create/edit/delete the Partner portal users in the Users screen of the Partner Portal.
Live Package ActionsPermissions under this group are tied to the Live Package Screen.
Stop Live Package ExecutionsAllows the user to Stop Live Packages (i.e. Package that are currently running in Pia portal or in the ticketing system of the partner) from the Live Packages Screen.
View Live Package Executions🚨 This access level may allow users to see App Tokens . Please use this access level sparingly.
Allows the user to View Live Packages (i.e. Package that are currently running in Pia portal or in the ticketing system of the partner) from the Live Packages Screen.
PublishPermissions under this group allows user to publish Activities, Forms and Packages.
Activity EditorAllows the user to Publish an Activity from Sandbox to the Live Mode.
Form BuilderAllows the user to Publish a Form from Sandbox to the Live Mode.
Package BuilderAllows the user to Publish a Package from Sandbox to the Live Mode.
SandboxPermissions under this group are tied to the Sandbox Mode.
Create SandboxAllows the user to Create a new Sandbox using the Sandbox Editor.
Delete My SandboxAllows the user to only Delete the Sandbox that they created.
Delete SandboxAllows the user to Delete any Sandbox available.
Sandbox ModeAllows the user to toggle between Live and Sandbox Mode. Also allows them to Create/View/Edit Packages, Forms and Activities in Sandbox Mode.
ChatboxPermissions under this group are tied to the Pia Chatbot.
Submit FeedbackAllows the user to submit feedback from the Pia chatbot in the ticketing system and/or the Pia portal.
SmartFormsPermissions under this group are tied to SmartForms and SmartForms Automations.
Manage - SmartFormsAllows the user to view/manage various options available in the SmartForms screen of the Partner Portal and also access the SmartForms Portal.
